Imagine that you run a US-based business selling software, hotel bookings, games, online courses, or physical products. Your checkout already accepts Visa and Mastercard, but you now want to reach more customers in Thailand.
You notice that some Thai customers prefer to pay through the mobile banking apps they use every day. This raises several practical questions:
Is K PLUS worth adding to your checkout?
Can a company outside Thailand accept it?
Do you need to connect directly with a local bank?
How much technical and operational work is involved?
What can a payment service provider such as Antom handle for you?
Accepting K PLUS means allowing an eligible customer in Thailand to choose K PLUS at checkout, move to the K PLUS mobile banking app, review the purchase, and authorize the payment.
It does not mean that you need to open a personal K PLUS account. It also does not mean that the customer sends money directly to your US bank account.
Instead, your checkout needs a payment connection that can create the transaction, direct the customer to K PLUS, return the payment result, and support the related refund, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
As a global payment provider supporting local payment methods across Asia, Antom helps international merchants evaluate, integrate, and operate payment methods such as K PLUS.This guide explains whether K PLUS fits your Thailand checkout, whether your international business can accept it, how to connect it, and how Antom can support the payment journey and post-payment operations.
K PLUS is the mobile banking application operated by KASIKORNBANK, commonly known as KBank. Thai consumers use it to manage accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, scan QR codes, and authorize online payments.
For an international merchant, the important point is that K PLUS can appear as a local payment option at checkout.
K PLUS is a mobile banking app and should not be confused with PromptPay or Thai QR, which follow different payment arrangements.
K PLUS may be worth considering if you sell to Thai consumers who already use mobile banking and you want to give them an alternative to entering an international card.
KASIKORNBANK reported that K PLUS had 24.2 million users at the end of 2025, up 5% year over year. The bank also reported a 78% active-user rate, defining an active user as someone who logs in at least once per month. This is equivalent to approximately 18.9 million users under KBank’s monthly active-user definition.
For a US travel platform, this means that a Thai customer booking a THB 8,000 hotel stay may already be familiar with K PLUS. Showing it at checkout allows the customer to authorize the purchase through an app they regularly use rather than entering international card details.
This can make the payment journey more locally familiar, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed conversion increase. Its value depends on your customers, product category, transaction value, checkout channel, and wider payment mix.

Your situation |
Why K PLUS may be relevant |
|
You sell directly to consumers in Thailand |
Customers can use a locally familiar mobile banking app |
|
Your checkout currently relies heavily on cards |
K PLUS provides an account-funded alternative |
|
You display prices and collect payments in THB |
K PLUS may fit a checkout where Thai customers view and pay in THB. |
|
A large share of your customers shop on mobile |
The payment is authorized through the K PLUS app |
|
You want full and partial refund capabilities |
Eligible K PLUS transactions can support both full and partial refunds. |
K PLUS should usually be considered as part of a broader Thai payment mix rather than the only local method you offer.
Your customers may also expect cards, PromptPay, Thai QR payments, other banking applications, or digital wallets. The right combination depends on who your customers are and how they prefer to pay.
If you operate in several Asian markets, it may be more efficient to evaluate K PLUS as part of a broader local payment strategy instead of building an isolated integration for Thailand alone.
Eligible international merchants can accept K PLUS through a payment provider that supports the method. You do not necessarily need to be a Thai company, but access is not automatic for every foreign business.
The practical question is whether your merchant entity and business model can be supported under the provider’s acquiring, compliance, and commercial arrangements.
Factors that may affect availability include:
Where your company is registered;
What products or services you sell;
Your merchant category;
Whether your customers are located in Thailand;
Your transaction currency and payment scenario;
Your expected transaction volume;
Your settlement requirements.
For example, a US game publisher selling digital items and a Hong Kong travel platform selling hotel bookings may both want to accept K PLUS. However, they may not receive identical onboarding requirements, transaction limits, pricing, or recurring-payment capabilities.
At Antom, we help you evaluate every part of accepting K PLUS — from your entity and business model to your transaction scenario and settlement needs — and work to activate a setup with rates and terms that fit your business.
Not necessarily.
The required bank-account and settlement structure depends on your merchant entity and signed payment agreement. You should confirm the available settlement currency, cycle, minimum settlement amount, and bank-account requirements with the payment provider before integration.
This is one reason to complete the commercial and eligibility review before your engineering team begins building the checkout flow.
An international merchant generally needs a connection between its checkout and the local payment method.
You may evaluate a direct local arrangement or work with a payment service provider that already supports K PLUS.
A separate connection may require you to manage:
Commercial and acquiring arrangements;
Merchant eligibility and compliance review;
Technical integration;
Payment-result notifications;
Refund operations;
Settlement;
Reconciliation.
This approach may be suitable for a large business with a substantial local presence and dedicated payment resources. However, it can become harder to manage when you also need different payment methods in other markets.
A payment service provider can give you one merchant-side connection for payment creation, redirection, status confirmation, refunds, and financial operations.
This does not eliminate onboarding or technical work. It can, however, reduce the need to build and operate a separate payment stack for each local method.
With Antom, eligible merchants can add K PLUS through our broader payment infrastructure and choose an integration model that fits their checkout and engineering resources.
Our current online payment integration options include:

A smaller merchant entering Thailand for the first time may prefer a hosted checkout because it reduces front-end development. A larger platform with an established payment team may prefer an API integration so it can control payment-method display, order-status logic, and the surrounding customer experience.
The customer journey is relatively straightforward, but the merchant-side integration requires proper payment-status and operational handling.
For the customer, the journey normally involves choosing K PLUS, opening the app, authenticating, and confirming the payment.
For your business, the work includes:
Creating the payment;
Redirecting the customer correctly;
Confirming the final result;
Updating the order;
Handling refunds;
Reconciling transactions and settlements.
A typical K PLUS online payment journey through Antom looks like this:
For supported K PLUS transactions, the payment result can be returned in real time. This does not mean that funds are settled to your bank account immediately.
Imagine that a Thai customer purchases a THB 25,000 flight ticket through your mobile website.
The customer chooses K PLUS, opens the app, and confirms the payment. Immediately afterward, they close the browser instead of returning to your success page.
Your front end does not show a successful result, but the payment may still have been completed.
Your system should therefore use the server-side payment notification—and payment inquiry when necessary—to confirm the final status. It should not mark an order as failed solely because the customer did not return to your website.
This is one of the most important differences between displaying a payment button and operating the payment method reliably.
There is no single public K PLUS rate that applies to every merchant.
Pricing may depend on your:
Merchant entity;
Business category;
Transaction volume;
Average transaction value;
Payment product;
Settlement arrangement.
Before signing, confirm the transaction fee, any fixed or refund-related charges, foreign-exchange arrangement, settlement currency, and minimum settlement amount.
For eligible K PLUS transactions, Antom supports full and partial refunds. Applicable refund conditions and time limits depend on the current product configuration and your agreement.
Suppose a travel merchant receives THB 30,000 for a hotel booking and the customer later cancels one night worth THB 6,000. If the transaction and merchant configuration support a partial refund, the merchant can return THB 6,000 without reversing the remaining THB 24,000.
A submitted refund should not be treated as completed until your system receives or confirms its final result.
A real-time customer payment result does not mean that the money is immediately deposited into your bank account.
With Antom, settlement is initiated automatically according to the contractual settlement cycle once the applicable minimum settlement amount is reached. Holidays are excluded, and the settlement currency depends on your agreement.
Your finance team can reconcile K PLUS payments, refunds, fees, and settlement records using merchant order information, Antom transaction identifiers, and settlement reports.
Detailed settlement conditions should be confirmed before launch because they depend on your contract rather than on K PLUS alone. You can review the general principles in our settlement rules.
Antom may be relevant if you want to accept K PLUS without building and operating a separate local payment connection by yourself.

Antom worked with Google Play and KASIKORNBANK to introduce K PLUS as a local payment option for users in Thailand.
The launch enabled eligible users to pay for apps, games, entertainment, and other digital content through the banking app they already used. Antom connected the global merchant platform with the local payment method and supported the underlying merchant payment service.
The Google Play arrangement included capabilities designed for that enterprise use case. You should not assume that every merchant automatically receives the same recurring-payment configuration.
Antom currently supports K PLUS for one-time online checkout and Tokenised Payment. If you need recurring billing, contact us to confirm the available product and integration model for your use case.
It may be valuable if you sell to Thai consumers who use KBank mobile banking and want a familiar alternative to entering card details. Its relevance depends on your customer base and broader Thailand payment mix.
Eligible international businesses can accept K PLUS through a supporting payment provider. Approval depends on the merchant entity, business category, compliance review, acquiring arrangement, and contract.
Not necessarily. A payment service provider such as Antom can connect an eligible merchant’s checkout to K PLUS and support payment processing and related operations.
The customer journey is simple, but merchant integration requires redirect handling, final-status confirmation, order updates, refunds, and financial operations. Hosted or embedded payment products can reduce some front-end development work.
There is no single public rate for every merchant. Pricing depends on factors such as your entity, business category, transaction profile, payment product, and settlement arrangement.
For eligible K PLUS transactions, Antom supports full and partial refunds, subject to the applicable refund window and your agreement.
